Hi students from NUSHS or Miss Chen if you read this =) ,

On Racial Harmony Day 2008 (21 July 2008), the National Education Ambassadors encouraged students to turn up in their ethnic costumes. Below's a scaled down version of the mentor group photo all NEAs are supposed to take:

M08101 - RHD

How we feel bonded together in RHD

Despite the fact that only one of us wore ethnic costumes, the message that Racial Harmony Day is important to us has sunk in. For instance, we respect the cultural and racial differences between all students in our class: while the majority of the mentor group are Chinese, 2 are Malay and 1 Indian. It is vital that we remain united - the race of each student cannot be a sole factor for the way we socialise with others. We are supportive of RHD despite the fact that only 4% of the class put on their ethnic costume - most of us did not have such attire. Singapore has had a great influence over our thinking towards a multi-racial community, and we strongly support the unity between the different races in this little red dot. We hope that the NEAs would continue to encourage students to be bonded together in such a community for the greater good of us.

P.S. You can get a high-definition copy of the 3 pictures I took from here, here and here. Note these are ~1.7 MB downloads, so do make sure you have a broadband connection.
